STOP PRAYING. START THINKING.

"FIRST OF I`D LIKE TO SAY I WASN'T PAID TO MAKE THIS POST,NEITHER DO I RECEIVE ANY SORT OF FUNDING FROM ANY ANTI GOVERNMENT AGENCY",THIS MIGHT BE LONG & NOT A FRIENDLY RANT."

Please whenever there is war or tragedy of some sort, why do we resort to praying?? what are you praying for? why pray when those involved are doing it for recognition, monetary gains and for other reasons best known to them.

At the moment All i see is PRAY FOR SOUTH SUDAN,PRAY FOR NIGERIA.. PRAY FOR THIS PRAY FOR THAT!!!! PRAY? that is bullshit. why should i pray for a country who has leaders who are apparently in their right minds and instead of working towards the socio economic growth of their nation resort to fighting over issues that and not worth sweating over. If there are 2 factions struggling for power, instead of fight and kill poor innocent and helpless citizens who can`t even afford 3 square meals or live below a dollar a day.

In Sudan, the protracted civil war-in which close to 2 million persons may have died either from the fighting or from war-related famine and disease since 1983-has been fueled by many countries that have poured weapons and other forms of military assistance into the Horn in recent years, despite the existence of huge cold war-era stocks. They include, among others, China, France, Iran, Iraq, Russia, South Africa, Uganda, and the United States. In the brutal civil war in Burundi, China has shipped arms to the government by sea and rail via Tanzania and Uganda in the mid-1990s, while weapons have been flown straight into Bujumbura airport from Bulgaria and elsewhere even recently. In Iraq, Swiss Pilatus planes were used for military purposes by the Iraqi air force, including in chemical attacks on Kurdish rebels and civilians in 1987-88. In Congo today, Zimbabwan planes and Angolan armor have been deployed on the government's side, while the Ugandan and Rwandan militaries (supplied by the United States, South Africa, and others) have sent heavily armed troops to fight on the side of the rebels.

In all of these wars, governments-along with rebel forces-have been involved in gross violations of human rights and international humanitarian law (also known as the laws of war). In most cases, other governments supplied the weapons to arm these abusive parties, and yet other governments winked at the transshipment of these weapons through their national territories. These governments are, by their acts of commission or omission or by sheer neglect, accessories to the abuses that are being committed. If the abuses rise to the level of war crimes, they may be accessories to war crimes, even genocide.IS THIS NOT ENOUGH LESSON?? AFTER BREAKING OUT YOU GO TO WAR AMONGS NON OTHER THAN YOURSELVES WHILES YOUR LEADERS AND THE WESTERN FRIENDS MAKE MONEY?? THEN I HAVE TO PRAY FOR YOU? NO. I CAN`T DO THAT. IF EVERYBODY REFUSE TO PICK UP A GUN AND THINK ABOUT PEACE,THERE WOULD BE PEACE.

.
Yours Truly, the President of South Sudan.

THIS IS THE BITTER TRUTH.THEY DONT GIVE A FUCK.

DO YOU REALLY THINK I SHOULD PRAY WHEN ALL INDICATIONS SHOWS THAT WAR IS BUSINESS AND OTHER PEOPLE BENEFIT WHILES OTHERS  DIE,OTHERS BENEFIT WHILES OTHER PEOPLE BECOME ORPHANS,GET RAPED & KIDS TAKEN AS CHILD SOLDIERS???? NO I WON`T. I WON`T!! IF TRULY THERE IS A GOD,I THINK HE LEFT AFRICA LONG AGO.

WHY DIDN`T CHINA,FRANCE,IRAN,IRAQ,RUSSIA,SOUTH AFRICA "OUR FELLOW BROTHERS" & ALL COUTRIES WHO SUPPLIED WEAPONS FOR THE WAR GO LIKE OH DON`T FIGHT BECAUSE THERE IS A GOD AND HE DOESN`T LIKE THE KILLINGS BLAH BLAH,.???

YOU NEED AN ANSWER?? I`D GIVE YOU 1. THEY DON`T GIVE 2 FUCKS ABOUT AFRICA,THEY WANT MONEY FOR THEIR OWN NATIONS. ALL THE SO CALLED INVESTORS OR HELPERS OR NGOS ALL MAKE GAINS 1 WAY OR THE OTHER. THIS SAME NATIONS FORM ARMS OF THE UNITED NATION AND AFTER SELLING TO YOU THEY COME AROUND WITH PEANUTS TO FEED WAR VICTIMS AND THEN ASK ME TO PRAY?? FUCK THAT, I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY TIME.

THE SOLDIERS/FIGHTERS DON`T FIGHT FOR FREE TOO. THEY GET PAID TOO AND WELL,THEY RAPE AND KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE.

IF THESE LEADERS REALLY THINK OF THEIR CITIZENS THEY WOULD USE THAT MONEY TO BUILD A NATION WORT LIVING IN. I WON`T PRAY FOR SUDAN.

DO WE ALL REMEMBER  SIERRA LEONE?? DO YOU REMEMBER THE LIMBS CUTTING INCIDENT NAMED "SHORT SLEEVE AND LONG SLEEVE" IF YOU DONT. PLEASE GO AND GOOGLE IT ,MAKE SURE YOU EAT BEFORE YOU DO BECAUSE U MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO. IF U EASILY GET NIGHTMARES I STRONGLY SUGGEST U DONT GOOGLE IT.I`M JUST GOING TO SHARE A FEW IMAGES. LETS NOT FORGET ABOUT THE AFTERMATH OF WARS,WHAT DO THESE MACHINERIES OF WAR GO THROUGH. MOST OF THEM GO MAD.ALL THIS IN THE NAME OF BUSINESS. THE DIAMONDS IN THAT COUNTRY WAS THE MAJOR INTEREST DURING THE WAR JUST INCASE YOU DIDN`T KNOW.

MOST OF THE ARMS WERE SUPPLIED AGAIN BY THE WESTERN COUNTRIES AND SOME AFRICAN LEADERS,1 IS CURRENTLY SERVING JAIL TIME FOR WAR CRIMES AND PARTICIPATION. OUR CHARLES TAYLOR OF LIBERIA.

LETS GO BACK TO THE 1994 RWANDAN GENOCIDE..BEGINNING ON THE 6TH OF APRIL  1994, Hutus began slaughtering the Tutsis in the African country of Rwanda. As the brutal killings continued, the world stood idly by and just watched the slaughter. Lasting 100 days, the Rwanda genocide left approximately 800,000 Tutsis and Hutu sympathizers dead. LONG AND SHORT OF THIS. THE BELGIANS STARTED THE WAR BY DIVIDING THE COUNTRY AND CAUSING ETHNIC OF TRIBAL HATE WHICH I MUST SAY MOST STUPID AFRICANS HAVE A PHD IN. WE ARE ALL 1 PEOPLE U DUMB FUCKS!. ALOT OF PEOPLE WERE KILLED,I WISH THERE IS ANOTHER WORD FOR ALOT COZ ITS NOT DOING JUSTICE HERE. WEAPONS OF ALL SORT,THE MOST POPULAR WAS THE MACHETE WHICH I FOUND OUT WAS FROM OUR LOVING CHINESE AND OH LETS NOT FORGET THE BELGIAN INVOLVEMENT AND ESCAPING WHEN THINGS GOT OUT OF HAND. YOU WANT ME TO PRAY FOR BUSINESS MEN? TO WHO EXACTLY? WHITE JESUS? UM NAH I`D PASS.

TO MY FATHERLAND WHICH I`M NOT ENTIRELY PROUD OF AT THE MOMENT. NIGERIA.. WE HAVE THIS BOKO HARAM MENACE. WHICH THE PRESIDENT FROM ALL HIS ACTIONS DOESN`T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT,I DARE SAY EVEN THAT OLU OF IBADAN CARE LESS BECAUSE THIS IS A NATIONAL TRAGEDY.. U CANT JUST GO INTO CELEBRATION..AFTER THIS INCIDENT

PRESIDENT CELEBRATES JUST OR BARELY 24HRS AFTER THE EXPLOSION CAUSING HORRIFIC IMAGES UP THERE..

YOU JUDGE FOR YOURSELF,ALTHOUGH HE AINT FOOLING NOBODY WITH THIS BLOOD DONATION.

SO YEA THATS IS FOR NOW... I WON`T PRAY FOR ANYBODY WHO WON`T THINK.. ALL THE PRAYERS I HAVE DONE FOR THEM IS ENOUGH. I THINK ITS TIME TO THINK AND NOT PRAY ANYMORE. LETS NOT WAIT TILL IT HAPPENS TO US,WHICH I THINK IT IS INDIRECTLY. NO PRAYER AFTER DEATH. WAR IS BUSINESS,THE MORE YOU FIGHT THE RICHER SOME PEOPLE BECOME.THINK ABOUT IT. I`M GHOST.

  1. hmmmmm...
Some pretty gory images you got up there.
Well, I've come to realise that it appears when faced with problems/challenges, rather than working at solving them, the solution just about everyone quotes really always is "give it to God", and then that's it. It really would be awesome if we could do both.
How about we give it to God, pray about it and get off our bums and work at solving it?
I am christian, I love God, I love Jesus, I believe prayer works, prayer changes the extremely terrible to extremely good, but really, I feel a lot of people just use prayer as an excuse to excuse stuff that can be tackled with human effort.
I'd like to say we are an extremely religious people that's why the solution we quote to all problems is prayer, but seriously, if we were that religious a people, why are some engaged in absolutely barbaric activities while others look on and do nothing? Or is Africa blessed/cursed (depending on how you look at it) with the two extreme kinds of people?
The other thing is those that sit back and do nothing are just as bad.
"There may be times when we are powerless to prevent an injustice, but let there never be a time when we fail to protest". Even if there really isn't much you can do about a terrible situation, never fail to protest. Let your voice expressing your displeasure be heard.
Yes, let us pray about all the terrible stuff going on in Africa but let's also get up, rise up and do something even if it is just to protest.

  2. I actually wrote a post about this. I was really upset at the whole 'Nigerians should be holy', and 'let's go and pray hard' statements I heard 2 weeks ago, that I wrote the post. I did not put the post up, though. It was an angry post, and I know people will label me an atheist, lol.

    1. I've lost friends "mostly holy Christians"over time, being called all sorts just because I speak my mind. It won't stop me from speaking my mind. Keeping quiet and not being able to ask questions Is our problem. Please don't be scared of being labeled.

  3. Didi, i do agree with many of the points you raised in your post, however i want to add that yes, people hide behind prayer as a recourse to doing nothing. It does not however mean that prayer in itself is bad. I will say, pray but also involve yourself in efforts to cause changes in your country and any other place you can international effect a change. There is a proverb which says when someone's beard is burning, you fetch watch beside yours. The fact that problems are taking place in other areas does not mean it will escape you. When citizens are passive about little things, they grow and then blow. By all means i will pray, however i will also advocate and protest and scream and talk till i am hoarse. That is why i protest about GMOs that is why i protest about trade deals that is why i protest about a whole lot of other things that may not be directly affecting me because i realise it is just a matter of time that i will become a victim if not already and in all, I STILL PRAY.
